Change of command held
STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. - Capt. Sueann Schorr became the new commanding officer of Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Reserve Activity 0282 following a ceremony Nov. 4. She replaces Capt. Diane Boettcher, who had been in command since 2015 and is going to the Naval Information Reserve in Fort Worth, Texas. The Naval Meteorology and Reserve Activity 0282, headquartered at Stennis Space Center (SSC), oversees nine reserve units from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to Norfolk, Va., in support of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, also headquartered at SSC. The Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally-distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas.
